Improper fountain solution pH/conductivity.

Adjust fountain solution to proper pit/conductivity (pH 4.5-5.5).

Adjust to proper ink/water balance; consult DIC India.

Ink taking up too much water

Adjust to proper ink/water balance; consult DIC India.

Insufficient air/oxygen circulation

Fan sheets between printing and other operations; use anti-set-off spray to keep sheets apart, impervious sheets such as plastic and foil should be kept in small lifts, slip sheeted or fanned frequently.

Paper contains excessive water; nonabsorbent stock

Use hot air blower on delivery or store paper in warm place prior to running. Airing can help ink to dry. If required change stock.

Paper is too acidic.

Test paper for drying properties before running. Consult paper supplier.

Relative humidity too high.

Control pressroom humidity to maintain relative humidity

The plate dampening is uneven

Clean the dampners thoroughly, check windows, vents and forced air systems to prevent drafts
